Mwanyongo Challenges Chakwera, Chimwendo on MCP’s “Achievements

Emmanuel Mwanyongo, a concerned Malawi citizen, has penned an open letter to President Lazarus Chakwera and MCP Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda, questioning the legitimacy of MCP’s touted achievements.

Mwanyongo criticizes the recent parade led by Chimwendo Banda, calling it a “lackluster display” with “small numbers” but “well-lined pockets” due to corruption.

He argues that Malawians deserve genuine leadership, not superficial claims.

Mwanyongo lists several projects, including the Bridgin Foundation and Barkaat Foods Limited scandals, as examples of fraudulent schemes aimed at enriching MCP officials.

He emphasizes that these projects were initiated before MCP’s tenure.

Mwanyongo urges rigorous scrutiny of these “achievements” and warns that those involved in corruption will face consequences. He calls for accountability, integrity, and progress, rather than empty rhetoric.
