Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy Secures Vital Win Over Lube Masters

Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy claimed their first victory in the NRFA Simso Mzuzu 12 Sponsors league, defeating Lube Masters 3-2 at Chibavi ground.

Lube Masters took the lead through Trace Nandolo’s 10th-minute goal, but Mphatso Kumwenda equalized with a well-taken free kick in the 41st minute.

In the second half, Kumwenda scored again from a free kick, but Chancy Kaonga leveled for Lube Masters. Pearson Mbizi sealed the win for Ekwaiweni Tafika with a counter-attack goal in the 88th minute.

Lube Masters’ coach, Harlod Phiri, attributed the loss to lack of composure and goalkeeping errors.

“We conceded two silly freekicks and lost concentration towards the end our goalkeeping wasn’t good enough today and we missed a number of chances.” Said Phiri.

Ekwaiweni Tafika’s coach, Omega Mhone, praised his team’s composure upfront and the goalkeeper’s superb saves.

“We came flat out today we worked on composure upfront hence the goals and thanks to a superb saves by our keeper, the win is a morale booster.” a visibly relaxed Mhone said.

The win brings Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports Academy to 4 points, while Lube Masters remains winless with 2 points from 4 games.

Current Standings on the table Jenda United remain on top with 10 points seconded by Chintheche United with same 10 points and Songwe Border United with 9 points on third position.
