Six-Lane Road to be Named After Chilima

President Lazarus Chakwera has announced that the six-lane road currently under construction in Lilongwe will be named in honor of the late Vice President Saulos Chilima, recognizing his dedication, unity, and humility.

Addressing attendees at the memorial ceremony held at Lunjika Turnoff in Mzimba, Chakwera expressed the government’s desire to hold memorials at all nine burial sites of the victims of the tragic accident.

While some mourners gathered at the crash site and others at various resting places, the President emphasized that the nation is united in remembering the lives lost.

He further encouraged people to mourn in their own way, acknowledging the tragedy as both shocking and heartbreaking.
