Police arrest three for possessing fuel without license

Police in Rumphi district are keeping in custody 3 men for allegedly being found in possession of petroleum without proper documents.

The 3 have been identified as Jimmy Kambani, 43, Martin Kambewa, 36, and Edion Ng’oma, 48.

It is reported that on June 03, 2023, afternoon, the team of Criminal Investigation Department of Rumphi Police station were on general observation within Rumphi trading center.

In the course, upon arrival at Chikuni trading center, they came across 2 suspects possessing 240 litres of fuel. Later at Rumphi trading center they found another suspect with 45 litres of fuel.

When they asked about the documents to posses such products, they failed to produce leading to their arrests.

Police managed to seize the fuel and the suspect are expected to appear before court of law soon to answer the charge leveled against them.

Kambani hails from Blantyre district whilst Kambewa hails from Mulanje district and Ng’oma hails from Rumphi district.
