Mzuzu Technical College Rewards Academic Excellence

Mzuzu Technical College has recognized outstanding students with certificates and cash incentives as part of efforts to promote academic excellence and encourage hard work among learners.

Speaking during the award presentation ceremony, College Principal Julius Phiri said the initiative was introduced to motivate students to aim for high academic standards while preparing them for future career opportunities.

Phiri explained that the awards were based on merit, with each department selecting its best-performing students. He noted that academic excellence remains one of the key attributes employers look for in today’s competitive job market.

He further revealed that the college is considering offering employment opportunities to students who consistently demonstrate exceptional academic performance and a strong work ethic.

Meanwhile, students who achieved distinctions in their ACU examinations are expected to receive cash rewards by the close of business tomorrow in recognition of their outstanding achievements.

According to Phiri, the institution will continue implementing initiatives that promote discipline, dedication, and a culture of excellence as part of its commitment to producing competent graduates for industry.

One of the award recipients, Phenious Peace Makaka, a Level One Administrative Studies student, said the recognition had inspired him to work even harder in his studies.

Makaka expressed confidence that the awards would motivate not only him but also fellow students to strive for academic excellence.
