Mzuzu DFA Conducts Draw for Castel Challenge Cup
Mzuzu District Football Association on Tuesday conducted a draw for Castel Challenge Cup at Luwinga Technical Development Center.
Teams have been grouped into eight groups and top teams will reach quarterfinals.
Speaking after the draw General Secretary for Mzuzu District Football Association Alphack Mkandawire says they expect teams to adhere to rules and regulations governing the cup.
“We expect a good competition and discipline from teams”. said Mkandawire.
Mkandawire added the games will start this weekend.
“We are starting on Saturday in group stages where teams will play against each other once and the top teams will reach the quarterfinals.” Mkandawire said in an interview.
Joseph Hara coach for Baula Celtic says his team is ready for the cup.
“As a team we are ready our aim is to qualify for quarterfinals and see the way forward from and we will adhere to rules and regulations of the cup by sensitizing our supporters as we always do.” Said Hara.
The district champions will pocket K750,000 while the second will go away with K300,000 and the third placed team will pocket K200,000.
The district champions will qualify for national level.
