Mzuzu City Half Marathon Organisers Urge Early Registration

Organisers of the Mzuzu City Half Marathon are encouraging people to register in good time as the countdown continues towards the event scheduled for Saturday, 28th March 2026.

Chairperson of the organising committee, Adron Msowoya, made the call at the end of the Health Walk awareness campaign held on Friday, saying time is quickly running out for interested participants.

In his remarks, Msowoya assured the public that preparations for the marathon are progressing well, despite facing a financial shortfall against the K40 million budget.

“We are closing registration on 23 March, and any late registration will attract a penalty fee,” he said.

He further revealed that the Northern Region alone has already registered 15 athletes, expressing optimism that more participants will sign up before the deadline.

The Health Walk attracted participation from various institutions including Moyale Barracks, Mzuzu City Council, Medhealth, ACB, the Judiciary, Malawi Police Service, Malawi Prison Service, Immigration, and the Education sector, among others.

Organisers have since reiterated their appeal to the public to come in large numbers, both to participate and support one of the country’s growing athletics events.
