human right activist based in South Africa Charles Ben Longwe, has asked Leader of Opposition in Parliament Hon Kondwani Nankhumwa to honour an agreement they signed with the Government leading to the passing of the National Youth Service into law in Parliament.

Ben Longwe has claimed that the bill on the National Youth Service was brought into the National Assembly, it was passed and President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera signed it into law wondering why today he is not happy with 221 youth going to Israel for undisclosed government duties.

He said the MCP knew what the bill was all about and because the country since President Chakwera was voted into power, is running without an opposition Leader of Parliament and opposition Members of Parliament, the move to send 221 youth to Israel should not surprise them but Malawians must be surprised.

Speaking through an audio clip circulating in various social media platforms, Ben Longwe has observed that the timing of sending 221 youth to Israel is subject to discussion because Israel is at war with the Hamas and Palestinians who are fighting for freedom in that country.

Ben Longwe said in 1963 Malawi sent 30 youth to Moshavv, Tel Aviv in Israel to be trained on agricultural production and at the same time defending themselves as soldiers and when they came back, the notorious Malawi Young Pioneer (MYP) was formed as an armed wing of the MCP.

He said these 221youth going to Israel will be another MYP to destabilize the country towards the 2025 elections to instill fear in Malawians for President Chakwera and his MCP to bounce back into government without the citizens vote of confidence.

The Activist said Dr. Nankhumwa has been asked to bring evidence in Parliament that the 221 youth were expected to leave the country on an Israeli chartered plane which was expected to land at Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe either on Thursday night or midnight of Friday.

“It is very difficult to provide evidence since the two sides agreed and signed but Nankhumwa did not know what the deal was all about, the MCP was eyeing for 2025 elections,” said Longwe.
During parliamentary seating of Thursday, Dr. Nankhumwa moved the motion calling on the MCP led government to clarify on the serious allegation on whether the 221 Malawian youth flying to Tel Aviv-Israel are going to work in the estates or joining the Israel-Hamas war.

Soon after the motion was introduced, the whole house went into commotion with the government side not happy as to why the Leader of Opposition has decided to introduce the bill now in a development which has brought fear of uncertainty on the bumpy road to 2025 elections.
