Government calls off planned orientation meeting for newly appointed DCs

The Government has called off the planned meeting which was aimed at orienting the newly appointed District Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers.

The meeting which was has an ultimate goal to produce a cohort of District Commissioners and Cheif Executive Officers that are technically, administrativelly, and managerially competent to drive the Ministry’s agenda was slated for tomorrow, February 6, 2023 at Segelege Lodge in Salima.

The development comes in as the Supreme Court of Appeal granted a stay order to the Malawi Local Government Association stopping which stopped the government from execution of a judgement by the lower court pending determination of the appeal on transfers and redeployment of some District Commissioners in the country.
