Ekwendeni, Tigers share Spoils

Mighty Waka Waka Tigers on Sunday come from behind to force a draw against Ekwendeni Hammers at Rumphi Stadium.

Hammers scored a quick goal through Samuel Adebiya Adeyemi in 7 minutes and had an upper hand to add another goal after several chances in the first half but wasted several opportunities.

Christopher Nyambose’s boys came different in the second half played fantastic football until in the 68 minutes when Precious Chiudza scored the equalizer beating the goal stopper who had left the line of duty.

End of the game Ekwendeni and Tigers share a point each after a 1 all.

Coach for Ekwendeni Hammers Elias Chirambo said his boys relax after the goal.

“Tigers gave us a good game and we played well today only that our boys get relaxed with a single goal, and our opponents came hard in the second half that cost us a game,” said Chirambo.

Christopher Nyambose Tigers coach said his boys are not used with playing on natural grass grounds.

“The ground is too slippery, my boys are not used with this natural grass because we are used with artificial turf, we still have many games and our target is to hit 40 points or above so that we avoid relegation from the league,” said Nyambose.

The point give Hammers 29 points from 22 games and on position 10, while Tigers from 24 games played with 28 points and on position 11.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are still on top of the summit table, while Extreme is anchoring the log.
