Ekwendeni Hard Knockers FC Withdraws from 2026 MNRF League
Ekwendeni Hard Knockers Football Club has announced that it will not participate in the 2026 MNRF League due to financial challenges affecting the team’s operations.
In an official statement released by the club, the management said the decision was reached after careful assessment of the club’s financial position. The club cited the rising costs of travelling for away matches and other logistical expenses as key factors behind the withdrawal.
The club described the decision as a difficult one, saying it was made with a heavy heart as it continues to face economic constraints that have stretched its capacity to compete effectively in the league.
Despite pulling out of the upcoming season, Ekwendeni Hard Knockers FC has assured supporters that it remains committed to the development of football within the community. The club said efforts will continue behind the scenes to rebuild and create a stronger foundation for a future return to competitive football.
The club has also expressed gratitude to its supporters, sponsors and stakeholders for their unwavering support, understanding and belief in the team throughout the years.
The statement was signed by the club’s General Secretary, Godfrey Wasambo Mtambo, who reaffirmed the club’s commitment to returning stronger in the future.
