CRMI to Celebrate 25 Years of Living Testimonies with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, Emphasizes Prayer Ahead of Elections
Charismatic Redeemed Ministries International (CRMI) has called on Malawians to engage in consistent prayers ahead of the September 16 general elections.
The church’s founder and father, Archbishop Dr. Mark Kambalazaza, made the appeal on Monday in Blantyre during a media briefing on preparations for CRMI’s 25th anniversary celebrations, scheduled for September 5–7 at Kamuzu Stadium.
“We are pleased to announce that our church has reached a remarkable milestone—25 years since its establishment in 2000. We invite all media houses and the public to join us in this celebration,” Dr. Kambalazaza said.
“At the same time, we urge everyone to remain steadfast in prayer as the nation approaches the general elections. We need God’s intervention for the selection of a God-fearing leadership through fair and credible polls.”
Dr. Kambalazaza also shared the inspiration behind CRMI’s vision, “Preaching the Living Jesus and the Holy Spirit in Readiness for Rapture”. He recounted his personal testimony of being miraculously restored to life after battling a severe illness for 11 years between 1980 and 1991.
“The Lord Jesus intervened when I had already died, bringing me back to life. From that moment, I promised God I would spread the Gospel around the world. This theme reflects that promise,” he explained.
To mark the silver jubilee and appreciate those who have stood with him over the past 25 years, Dr. Kambalazaza will host the event alongside his wife, Bishop Ireen Kambalazaza. The celebration will feature distinguished guest ministers, including Apostle Dr. Madalitso Mbewe of Calvary Family Church (Malawi), Apostle Stanys Moliki (South Africa), Bishop Elizabeth Vareen (USA), and Apostle Frederick Shumba (Zimbabwe).
Today, CRMI operates over 450 church centers, including numerous outstations in Malawi, with international branches in South Africa, Ireland, Mozambique, and the United States.
