CISONECC to host African region symposium on loss and damage

The Civil Society Network on Climate Change (CISONECC) in collaboration with Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), Trocaire Malawi, Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF), Concern Worldwide, Catholic relief services and Christian Aid will host an African Region symposium on loss and damage caused by the Cyclone Freddy.
The symposium held under the theme “Consolidating Evidence and African Voices for Advancing a pan African loss and damage agenda of all levels” will is scheduled for 3rd to 5th April at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe.
The symposium that will be graced by the Minister of Natural Resources and Climate Change, Dr Michael Usi will focus on loss and damage financing, local and global mechanisms for addressing loss and damage and documentation and methodologies for capturing loss and damage.
Malawi still licks wounds and seek to recover from the unfathomable losses and damages caused by the merciless Cyclone Freddy which stole thousands of lives and property.
