Chitipa goes top, As Mafco move from relegation zone

There was An exciting encounter at Mpira stadium this afternoon as Bangwe All Stars was taking on giant killers Chitipa United in a highly contested much.
The match started with some fireworks as Bangwe was trying to find an early goal but striker Friday Osagie missed a clear chance.
15 minutes into the game Chitipa nearly scored as Lorenzo Gheddo failed to beat Enerst Kakhobwe in a one on one situation.
Both teams were very wasteful in the first half and at half it was still goalless.
In the second half Bangwe made double substitutions bringing in Mathews Masamba and Emmanuel Saviel for Aaron Chilipa and Kondwani Chilembwe this changed the tempo of the game as Bangwe was coming wave after wave but Chitipa goalie George Chikooka was a marvel to watch as he was always alert to protect his goal.
On 64 minutes Chitipa introduced Bright Masebo and Godfrey Kwiyokwa for Lamson Lukali and Stain Patrick and this brought change to Chitipa’s play as they be able to press on Bangwe no wonder on 80 minutes Lorenzo Gheddo netted for the visitors with a solo effort to make it one nil.
Bangwe started pushing for an equaliser but their forwards were still wasteful in front of goals.
Referee Mwayi Msungama added four minutes to the game and when everyone thought it will end like that Godfrey Kwiyokwa had other plans as he netted a very beautiful freekick to beat Enerst Kakhobwe in goals to make it 2 nil and thats how it ended.
Coach for Bangwe All Stars Abel Mkandawire praised Chitipa United goalkeeper for a job well done.
“Lets be honest Chitipa United goalkeeper was fantastic today in goals we would have scored a couple of goals but he denied us those chances so congratulations to Chitipa and we will come back stronger in our next assignment”. Said Mkandawire
His Counterpart Mcdonald Nginde Mtetemera said that his changes made dividend.
” We didn’t play well in the first half thats why I decided to bring in new blood in the second half and it worked for us and we won the game so kudos to the boys for the Job well done as they are able to listen to what we are teaching them”.Concluded Nginde
In other match a brace from Stain Malata was enough for Mafco FC to ease past Civil Service United at Chitowe Stadium.
As it stands Chitipa United have moved to the top of TNM super league with 39 points from 21 games while Bangwe is on position 7 with 28 points from 21 games and Mafco has moved out from relegation now on position 12 with 24 points from 21 games while Civil Service United is on position 11 with 24 points from 20 games.
