Malawian Duo shines at Inaugural Elite Ladies Awards

Chimwemwe Madise and Maydina Ngulube were awarded for their exploits at the inaugural Elite Ladies Awards which took place at Courtyard Hotel in Lusaka Zambia.

The Scorchers vice captain Maydina Ngulube scooped Best Midfielder of Season and Most Promising Player while Chimwemwe Madise went home with Best Ambassador of the Year and Most Disciplined Player of the Year.

Sports Journalist who follows Womens Football Sussana Nkhoma said that this is good for the girls and also for the nation.

“This is good honestly being their maiden season in a foreign land they have shown that they are good players who are supposed to play at top level and I hope Elite Ladies will give them contract extensions and also this is good for the nation as this might open doors for other Malawian players since now they know that we produce cream of crop which might my also help our womens national team rise on international ranking” she concluded

In total, 42 awards were presented at the ceremony and Elites Ladies finished fourth in the standings behind Zesco Ndola Girls, Red Arrows and Defending Champions Green Buffaloes.
