UDF members plead Atupele to contest

United Democratic Front (UDF) members today marched from Kamuzu upper stadium in the Commercial city Blantyre to Atupele Muluzi’s house in Nyambadwe to offer their petition impelling him to stand in as a contestant in the convention next year and contest in 2025 coming Tripatite elections.

The development comes after 5 days UDF President Lilian Patel revealed that she is not willing to contest as President in the convention as the party celebrated its 30th Anniversary of existence and democracy at St Augustine 3 in Mangochi.

Speaking during the Anniversary on May 08 2023 Atupele said he is willing to do what ever it takes to make sure that UDF bounces back into a strong and powerful party.

“Am a business man and any penny that I will be getting will be deposited into the party’s account to make sure that the party has vehicles,and our members have lappers,T-Shirts and Capes well printed so that we run the party smoothly.

Members of the party argue that Malawi needs a patriotic, corrupt free and sober minded leader therefore Atupele suits the position.
