Clinician Arrested for Alleged Theft of Medical Supplies at Dowa District Hospital
Police in Dowa have arrested a 33-year-old clinician, Isoken Bond, in connection with the alleged theft of medical supplies from Dowa District Hospital.
The incident reportedly occurred on May 5, 2025, within the hospital premises.
According to hospital officials, Gloria Mwanyari, the male ward in-charge who was on duty with Bond at the time, became suspicious after noticing that he had locked himself inside the drug store around 10:00 a.m.
Upon investigating, Mwanyari discovered a bag filled with medical supplies, allegedly packed by the suspect.

The matter was first reported to hospital management, who later alerted the police on May 15, 2025.
Following investigations, officers visited the scene, apprehended the suspect, and recovered the medical supplies. However, authorities have not yet disclosed the total value of the recovered items.
Bond, who is from Tiimbenawo Village under Traditional Authority Chapananga in Chikwawa District, is expected to appear in court soon to face charges of theft by servant.
