MUBAS Students Meet Former President Mutharika
“Seek Support for University Development”
Students from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Science (MUBAS) met with former President Arthur Peter Mutharika on October 7, 2024, at his Blantyre residence.
The students, who are backing Mutharika’s 2025 presidential bid under the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), requested that he address the neglect of university students’ needs by the current administration and invest in additional infrastructure at MUBAS.
The students praised Mutharika’s past efforts in transforming MUBAS’s campus through impressive infrastructure development during his presidency.
They expressed hope that he would continue this progress upon his potential return to office in September 2025.
Mutharika has a history of supporting education initiatives, previously presiding over the first graduation ceremony of the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) in 2019.
His commitment to education and development aligns with the students’ requests.
