Woman Arrested for Theft in Rumphi

Police in Rumphi on September 2, 2024, arrested Mwiza Gondwe,41, for theft of assorted maternity items belonging to women at the Rumphi District Hospital.

Gondwe was also arrested on July 18, 2024, after committing the same offense at the same place, and was on police bail pending court proceedings.

In both theft counts, she stole Wrappers (Zitenje), Laptop bags, maize flour, and other assorted items.

In the first count, she submitted her particulars as Grace Chisambi, aged 41, from Chirwa Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe in Rumphi.

Upon investigations, it has been found out that she is Mwiza Gondwe, aged 41, from Scort Mhango Village, in the area of Traditional Authority Mthwalo in Mzimba.

Gondwe will soon appear before the court to answer both counts of theft.
