Sunganimoyo thanks the Balaka people for demonstrating unity

Social commentator Isaiah Emmanuel Sunganimoyo has thanked the Ngoni of Balaka for preaching unity and love at the burial ceremony of legendary musician Lucius Banda who until his death was President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s Advisor on Youth and Arts.

Sunganimoyo has observed that during the burial ceremony, President Chakwera mourned Lucius Banda in tears of joy and dancing a clear demonstration that Soldier Lucius Banda preached love and unity in all of his pieces of music.

He has described Soldier Lucius Banda as a man of good heart claiming that at his burial and before, there were no reports of violence, insults, and castigations saying Lucius Banda wanted people to live together as one Malawi.

Speaking through a video clip circulating in various social media platforms, Sunganimoyo has praised the Ngoni of Balaka for respecting the attendance of President Chakwera at the burial ceremony saying this has made Lucius to be buried with honor.

Sunganimoyo said the late Lucius Banda besides taking music as a career, has been the voice of voiceless citizens claiming that he spoke with courage for the authorities to listen to the cries of the citizens, and no wonder he was a musician turned politician.

He concurred with the words said by Pastor Allan Ngumuya praying to President Chakwera to continue supporting the music industry in Malawi claiming that Lucius Banda taught many upcoming musicians and today they are celebrated musicians with thanks to soldiers.

Pastor Ngumuya asked President Chakwera to establish a place where various artists could be meeting at one place as Soldier Lucius Banda has always been doing in Balaka saying this will help to honor the spirit of Soldier Lucius Banda.
“I propose that the name of the center will be Sir Lucius Banda for the job he has contributed to the music industry not to be forgotten,” said Sunganimoyo.

He has finally encouraged Lucius Banda’s children and family to continue with the good spirit left by their father while he was alive of living together in love and unity with others for the spirit of Soldier Lucius Banda to continue resting in peace.

During the burial ceremony, various artists performed their best tributes to Soldier Lucius Banda forcing all including President Chakwera to stand up to dance to the music making one forget that he/she was mourning.
