
Lilongwe city council has commended property developer Innobuild company for helping the council in clearing the area 23 ntaya dumping site.
Speaking during the inspection tour on Friday Lilongwe city council Deputy Mayor Her Worship Esther Sagawa said the noble work by the company should not go unnoticed as it is not the first time the company has assisted the council in ensuring the city is clean.

“Let me thank Innobuild CEO and his company for the good work they are doing here removing and clearing at our area 36 dumping site, this will help us prevent some diseases including Cholera among people living around the site,”.
Sagawa who is also the Councillor for Chimutu ward added that the city put some measures to control people who visit the dumping site to collect some things back to town.

“As city council we are much aware of the people who are collecting things from the waste area back to town, we are putting some measures to control this behavior,” said Sagawa.
Writing on his social media account Billy Jonathan Chiwotha Innobuild CEO said every Malawian is bound to take part in reducing the spread of waterborne diseases.
“After having great understanding and common standing with Lilongwe City Council Deputy Mayor on behalf of the Mayor, to work together in clearing Mtaya and clear road to area 23 from six miles,”.
“Today I have started my day with team from City Council Led By very humble Deputy Director of Health at City Thokozani Mkaka, on ground and progress has started being made on ground. We have enjoyed community participation led by their leaders and they now appreciate what’s being done. The situation in area 38 Mtaya is very dangerous as its where most of these waterborne diseases being hatched,”

This is not the first time for the company to participate in clearing wastes in Lilongwe.
Chiwotha says Innobuild has further donated their Tipper and TLB to work for free for 20 days in clearing wastes while the City Council will provide fuel for the said period.
