Tragedy Strikes Kasungu: Three Lives Lost in Fatal Car Accident

A devastating car accident occurred earlier this morning at Tchayoloko, near Nkhamenya shops in Kasungu, resulting in the loss of three lives. The vehicle involved, a Voxy with registration number BW1547, was traveling from Mzuzu road towards Lilongwe when it overturned.

John Chipeta, head of Nkhamenya Mission Hospital, confirmed that the hospital received the bodies of the three victims who died at the scene. The deceased include two women and one man.

Eight other passengers sustained injuries in the accident and have been transferred to Kasungu District Hospital for further medical attention.

While authorities have not yet released an official statement on the cause of the accident, police are currently investigating the incident.

This tragic event has left the local community in shock, highlighting the ongoing concern of road accidents claiming lives on Malawi’s highways.
