Malawi President Dr Lazarus Mc Cathy Chakwera writes:

In my capacity as Chancellor of the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST),I have today conferred academic accolades on one of the cohorts of over 400 students at its 4th Congregation.

In slightly over ten years, MUST has grown into a unique future-shaping centre of academic research and innovation with trailblazing capacity in progressive disciplines that resonate well with local and global development demands.

The Malawi Vision 2063, our local development blueprint, is in itself a guide to academic institutions for them to produce market- ready graduates who will spur sustainable development in line with our national targets.

I am delighted to note that as a leading science university, the institution is already adding a valuable dimension to Malawi’s development trajectory through scientific discovery and impartation of entrepreneurial skills set.

I also take great interest to see that MUST is running programmes that are futuristic and also key in laying strong foundations for a Malawi will compete advantageously within the global context.

Some of these include Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and modern technologies in medical diagnostics.
We can only get better as an economy when centres of knowledge are ready to embrace the national agenda the way MUST is doing.

Congratulations to all graduating students!
