Mutharika Meets with Muslim Leaders, Pledges to Restore Freedoms and Revive Economy

On Sunday, September 15, 2024, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, leader of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and Malawi’s prospective President for 2025, held a meeting with Muslim leaders.

During the meeting, Mutharika assured the leaders that, if elected, he would restore the country’s freedoms, revive the economy, and address the challenges posed by the Tonse Alliance, led by the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).

Also in attendance were DPP Vice President for the Eastern Region, Honorable Bright Msaka, SC, and DPP Governor for the Eastern Region, Honorable Daud Chikwanje.
