By Hosea Banda……….
Malawi football lovers has for long time witnessed the departure and arrival of some football players who went abroad searching for greener pastures but this has now come with as a worry to the football fraternity as most players are not staying longer in those clubs.
Sports analyst Zachariah Kasakula has expressed his dissatisfaction with what is happening with most of the Malawian football players who went abroad as they only play to fullfil the contract.
Kasakula has told The Malawi Guardian online that football teams are at amateur level as many players are not well trained.
He said many teams train in the morning and after doing training many players are free and they do whatever they want to do during afternoon hours like drinking beer which is at times detrimental in their career.
Kasakula says this is one of the contributing factors that many players are not staying longer at their clubs.
Zachariah Kasakula added that Malawi should also start taking football as a serious profession and he gave an example of what FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers are doing by taking football commercial.
He says commercialization drive will help to take malawian football into professional and will help most players to stay longer in their clubs.
