Karonga United stretched their fine form with three wins from three games after defeating struggling Moyale Baracks on Wednesday afternoon at Karonga Stadium.
The match didn’t have much spark in the first half as both teams could barely find chances to break the deadlock and at the end of first half it was still goalless.
Trevor Kajawa men came with a purpose in the second half no wonder on 56 minutes Allen Chihana tapped in a Josiah Duwa excellent cross to give the host a lead.
Karonga made double substitution bringing in Eric Atsigah and Saulos Moyo for Allen Chihana and Nanson Mbewe which brought in some morale in the game and on 65 minutes man of the moment for Karonga Mwisho Youngson connected a beautiful volley from a Otieno cross to lead 2-0.
Moyale Baracks tried to come back in the game and equalise but to no avail and at end of it all Karonga carried the day with two to nil.
Coach for Karonga United Trevor Kajawa said that hardwork and team spirit is the key to their current perfomance.
“Hardwork and team spirit is the secret to our current perfomance as of today in the first half we didn’t play our football we followed their pattern but we advised them at half time to play our football hence you saw some changes and we found two goals and am proud of my boys for the job well done.” Said Kajawa
His counterpart Nicholas Mhango said that his players just came here to fulfill the fixture and not play football.
“We didn’t play well in both halves the play was really bad my boys could not attack nor defend so with this mentality you cant win matches thats why we have lost by two goals to nil.” Concluded Mhango
As it stands Karonga have moved up to 6th place on the log table with 27 points from 19 games while Moyale Baracks has moved to 8th from 19 games.
