Karonga Press Club Cheers Elderly Mothers on Mother’s Day

Journalists from Karonga Press Club celebrated Mother’s Day by donating essential items to two elderly women, Margaret Mwanganda (70) from Bwiba and Midness Malema from Malema 1.

Donated items included Soap, Salt, Sugar, Cooking oil and Maize.

General Secretary Walughano Lumbira emphasized unity and ending harmful practices against the elderly.

“As journalists, it’s our duty to promote peace and show love to our elderly.”

Lumbira stressed corporate social responsibility, saying.

“We must give back to the community, beyond our professional only but also do some corporate social responsibility in order to help those indeed.” said Lumbira.

Beneficiary Margaret Mwanganda thanked the group, saying,

“I would like to thank you for sparing your time to come and see me as this help has come at right for me and my family as we had no any food with us.” She said.

Malawi celebrates Mother’s Day on October 15th annually to honor mothers and show appreciation.
