Kalindo released
Police have a few minutes ago released activist Bon Kalindo from detention after he spent a night at Nkhunga Police Unit in Dwangwa, Nkhotakota.
Kalindo’s lawyer Stanley Chirwa has confirmed of the development saying the police have ferried Kalindo and are currently travelling with him back to Lilongwe.
“I have spoken with Nkhunga police unit officer in-charge and he says that my client has been released but I will only believe it once I see him in person.” He said.
The Lilongwe Magistrate Court on Wednesday ordered immediate release of the comedian-cum-political activist but the police had already transferred him to Dwangwa, a distance of over 235 kilometres.
