Herbert Mtoso launches MK0.8 Million Football Trophy

People surrounding T/A Kalumba in Lilongwe on Sunday gathered at Chalendewa ground to witness the launch of Herbert Mtoso football Trophy in the area.
Speaking after the launch of the trophy Herbert Mtoso says he decided to introduce the football Trophy to allow all youths surrounding T/A Kalumba to refrain themselves from immoral behavior like smoking and drinking alcohol.
“I have decided to have a football trophy to be played by all youths surrounding T/A Kalumba with an aim to make them busy and to civic educate the to refrain from immoral behavior, like smoking, drinking alcohol and others which will lead them to poor health.”
He added that this is the beginning of new era in T/A Kalumba as he has a vision to also sponsor Netball in future.
He also says he will remain committed to sponsoring the football as other people did as they only come once and later disappear.
In his remarks chairperson for the Herbert Mtoso football Trophy committee Lackson Manjomeka has warned teams that the rules of the trophy will do it’s work once the team violate it.
Lackson Manjomeka was responding one of the coaches for Hammer Rangers Jonah Kasinjiro who said some teams have a habit of featuring TNM super league and Chipiku premier Division players in such trophies.
“As a committee we have made some rules which will guide the trophy and if the team has violated it, we agreed with both teams that they will called for disciplinery hearing.
“On part of featuring TNM super league and Chipiku premier Division players the committee has discouraged that conduct and once the team found they will face the laws and they will also be points deduction.”
The winner of the Herbert Mtoso football Trophy will walk away with K150,000.
The official launch of Herbert Mtoso football Trophy was graced by a football match between Nanjiri FC up against Hammer Rangers and Hammer Rangers emarges the winner and walked away with K15,000 while Nanjiri FC have pocked K10,000.
And Evance watsopano Meleka also blessed the occasion with his gospel songs during the launch of K800,000 Herbert Mtoso football Trophy.
