Mighty Mukuru Wanderers defender, Miracle Gabs Gabeya has grabbed the Airtel Top-8 Cup season five player of the tournament dubbed “dolo wa mpira”, beating his teammate, Chiukepo Msowoya and Nyasa Big Bullets defender, Gomezgani Chirwa.

The former Nyasa Big Bullets Centre-back walked to the podium at Sunbird Mount Soche in Blantyre,Yesterday, on Wednesday evening to collect the Best player of the tournament accolade during the Airtel Top 8 Season Five Awards ceremony where several “dolos” were recognised.

Despite facing criticism during his childhood stages of his career at the Lali Luban, Gabeya abruptly rose into the occasion and becoming the pillar of the team in the 2022 Football season.

Gabeya was one of the few players who played every minute of the competition as Wanderers won their first Airtel Top 8 title.

Gabeya said :“I am happy to have won  this top award in this prestigious tournament. There was tough competition from other players and feels good to be a winner.”
