FCB Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa is diligently working to address the team’s inconsistency as they prepare for the highly anticipated Blantyre derby against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the round of 16 of the FDH Bank Cup at Kamuzu Stadium. The People’s Team is coming off a 2-1 away defeat to Karonga United in the TNM Super League, further highlighting their current struggles.

This season has seen the 2023 quadruple winners endure an uncharacteristic dip in form. Out of 14 league games played, they have secured only four wins, lost two, and drawn eight—an underwhelming performance not witnessed in the past eight years. Pasuwa, in a pre-match interview, expressed his surprise at the team’s current form but remains focused on instilling a winning mentality and turning things around.

The team has received a boost with the return of forward Ephraim Kondowe and defender Collin Mujuru. Kondowe has resumed training after recovering from an ankle injury, while Mujuru is back after dealing with tight muscles. Their return is expected to bolster the squad ahead of the crucial fixture.

However, Bullets will be without defender Clyde Senaji and the midfield duo of Ernest Petro and Ronald Chitiyo for the derby. Both Petro and Chitiyo are still undergoing light training and are not yet fit to play.

As the Red Army gears up for this high-stakes match, Pasuwa’s focus remains on addressing the team’s inconsistency and ensuring they are well-prepared to face the Nomads. The upcoming derby promises to be a significant test for both teams as they vie for progression in the FDH Bank Cup.
