Fam suspends Kajoke, as Silver, Mvula slapped with fines

Football Association of Malawi Player Status Committe has released Hassan Kajoke’s transfer Saga Verdict after hearing the case last week.
In its Verdict that was released on Wednesday evening, the Committee has ordered Hassan Kajoke to refund Silver Strikers the money amounting to MK4.1 Million within five days of notification of the decision.
“The player, Mr Hassan Kajoke is ordered to pay back the sum of K3,900,000.00 (Three Million and nine hundred thousand Kwacha) to Silver Strikers Limited within 5 days from the date hereof.
“The Player, Mr Hassan Kajoke, shall be immediately from the date of this determination be suspended from participating in any football matches locally and internationally until he makes full payment of the sum of K3,900,000.00 (Three Million and nine hundred thousand Kwacha) to Silver Strikers Limited
” Additionally, the amount shall attract interest at prevailing commercial bank’s lending rate per annum if it is unpaid after the prescribed timeframe of 5 days,” reads the Verdict in part.
Kajoke has also been ordered to pay to FAM within 5 days hereof the sum of K200,000.00 (Two hundred thousand kwacha) as punishment for his conduct failure of which he shall be suspended from participating in any football matches locally and internationally until he makes full payment.
Silver Strikers Limited has been asked to directed to inform Kajoke directly and immediately the details of the account number to which the remittance of the funds is to be made and to notify the Player Status Committee of any payment received or non-payment.
The Player Status Committe has meanwhile found Silver Strikers Limited guilty of misconduct in terms of Article 24(e) of the FAM Regulations on the Status of Transfer of Player which World Football governing body, FIFA established.
“[Silver Strikers are] therefore ordered to pay a fine of K900,000.00 (Nine hundred thousand Kwacha) to FAM within 5 days hereof.
“Silver Strikers Football Club shall be banned from registering new players for 2 consecutive registration periods (transfer windows) upon failure to pay the said sum of K900,000.00 (Nine hundred thousand Kwacha) to FAM within the prescribed time of 5 days.
Ken Mvula who is Kajoke’s agent has been ordered to pay a fine of K500,000.00 (Five hundred thousand kwacha) to FAM within 5 days. Failure of which he shall be banned from acting as player manager or otherwise participating in football related activities in Malawi.
Meanwhile, in a letter signed by the Chairman of the FAM Player Status Committe who is also the General Secretary for the Association copied to Silver Strikers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Hassan Kajoke, Ken Mvula, the parties have been given the opportunity to appeal the Verdict within three days of the notification of the decision.
“Any party that is dissatisfied with the decision, has the right to appeal to FAM Appeal Committee within three days of notification of the decision upon payment of Eight Hundred Thousand Malawi Kwacha (MK800, 000),” the letter.
Kajoke has been at the centre of controverse this season after signing contracts with two teams.The Centra Bankers announced the arrival of the player on 4th January before Kajoke reversed his decision and commit hid future to his boyhood Club.
The 24-year-old forward who graduated from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve received MK3.9 Million from Silver Strikers as the signing on fee and salaries for January and February before the expiry of his contract with Bullets which was expected to end in March.
The lawyers for Silver Strikers petitioned Football Association of Malawi (FAM) asking FAM to expel Hassan Kajoke on the ground of theft, fraud, deceit, dishonesty and bringing the game of football in Malawi into disrepute.The lawyers informed FAM that Hassan Kajoke currently had two running contracts with Silver Strikers Football Club and FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Football Club.
Silver Strikers Football Club through lawyers had told FAM that in January, 2023, Hassan Kajoke and his manager Ken Mvula approached Silver Strikers Football Club stating that Hassan Kajoke was a free agent because his contract with Nyasa Big Bullets had expired on 31st December, 2023.
As a result Silver Strikers signed a three years contract with him. Silver Strikers even announced to the general public that it had signed Hassan Kajoke for 2023 season.
Soon after announcing the signing of the player, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets same date logged a complaint to the Football Association of Malawi accusing the Bankers of player tapping.
Bullets said Kajoke had signed a three-year contract with the Club on 1st April, 2020 which was expected to expire on 31st March, 2023.
