Fam appreciates Airtel for the Success Airtel Top-8 Cup season five

The Football Association of Malawi has praised the Sponsors of the Airtel Top-8 Cup, Airtel Malawi Pcl and partners for the success of the season five of the tournament.
FAM vice-president Jabbar Alide who is also the Football Association of Malawi competitions and Marketing subcommittee Chairperson made the statement on Wednesday, 1st February 2023 at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre during the award ceremony where the dolos of the Airtel Top-8 Cup season five were recognised and decorated.
“We appreciate Airtel and all the partners for the success of the Airtel Top 8 Season 5,” said Justice Alide.
The Vice president continued to say that they will continue to make the competition more exciting to both sponsors and the fans.

“As organisers, we will continue to up our game to make it more exciting. We introduced the Competition’s Management System which is now able to calculate player and team statistics making it easy to trace player performances,” added Jabbar.
Only Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Mafco Football Club were fined in the entire Airtel Top-8 Cup season five for misconduct as supporters who are alleged to be of Mighty Wanderers were captured pouring liquid substances on Mafco’s players.
Meanwhile, Airtel Malawi Managing Director Charles Kamoto said his company is excited to be part of football saying each season brings its own record.
“We are always excited to be in football because we love the sport. We had a meaning when we launched “Zamadolo” theme because we wanted to tell the nation that these are the cream of teams in the Malawi and that’s what we have been experiencing.
“We also knew that it will go a long way in creating the competitive culture among the teams and players and we have witnessed that as three players shared the top goal scorer award and for the first a defender has gone home with the player of the season award,” he said
Mighty Mukuru Wanderers were “madolo” after winning the Cup as they waited for penalty shoot-outs to beat their cross-town rivals, Nyasa Big Bullets in the final match played to Bingu National Stadium in December.
Miracle Gabeya was named the player of the tournament while Dedza’s Clement Nyondo, Bullets’ Lanjesi Nkhoma and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers’ Chiukepo Msowoya shared the golden boot award after netting two goals each.
