Ekwendeni humble Mayamiko in Simso Innobuild League

Ekwendeni United beat Mayamiko Stars 3-1 to register a vital first win in Simso Innobuild League Top 8 on Wednesday.

Diaz Nyasulu’s scissor kick which received a jubilation from the home funs at 22 minutes gave the home side a first half lead.

A second half brace from Michael Mhango was enough to seal the win for the home side with the consolation goal from Chimwemwe Nkhoma coming at 72 minutes.

Coach for Ekwendeni United Lukas Kalinga says his side will take every game as a final in their quest to get promotion.

“It was a difficult game our opponents came hard too but thanks we won convincingly, going forward we will take every game as a final so that we can finish top.” Kalinga said.

Mayamiko Stars mentor Charles Nkhoma accepted the defeat saying they will work on their shortfalls.

“That’s how football is, we will now work on our mistakes this is the first game we will focus on coming games.” Nkhoma said briefly.

With the win Ekwendeni United has joined Kadona, Hardknockers and Iponga on three points from the first games while Mzimba United,Baka City, Mayamiko Stars and Embangweni will go into the second games searching for first points this weekend.
