Great Start in Simso Innobuild league.

The final phase of Simso Innobuild league dubbed “Ubuke” started on Sunday with eight top teams competing for a spot in the top flight TNM Super League.

Ekwendeni Hardnockers, Mzimba United, Kadona Stars, Embangweni United, Iponga FC, Baka City, Ekwendeni United and Mayamiko Stars are the eight teams which managed to reach this phase.

In first game 10 men Ekwendeni Hardnockers defeated Mzimba United by two goals to one at Ngazi ground.Said Hussein put the visitors ahead before Mustafa Gama equalised And then Tymond Gomeka sealed the victory to complete a comeback for Tsikizi.

After narrowly missing out last year Kadona Stars started on a higher note defeating Embangweni United two nil at Chibwaka ground with goals from Marko Chiwaya And Lewa Nkosi.

The much talked Karonga Derby between Iponga FC and Baka City at Iponga ground ended with a one nil defeat to Baka City with Iponga scoring in the second half through Kennedy Mwakabaghe to claim a sweet revenge on their arch rivals.

Commenting on the restart of the league, Sports Analyst Robert Nyambose said that he expects a tough league ahead as most teams have beef up their squads.

“We expect a stiff competition as all 8 teams have prepared well for the last phase as you can see the results of this week all teams which looks like favourites dropped points which can tell that it will be an interesting journey and also all teams were given a node to beef up their squad plus one game per week will bring in the much needed excitement to the people because teams will be having enough time to prepare for the next game”. Said Nyambose

Ekwendeni United will host Mayamiko Stars on Wednesday at Ekwendeni Community Ground to conclude the first week of the league.
