TAM Expands Leadership Team to Drive Growth of Taekwondo

The Taekwondo Association of Malawi (TAM) has strengthened its leadership structure with the appointment of six additional officials in a move aimed at accelerating the development and promotion of the sport across the country.

In a statement dated June 8, 2026, signed by TAM President , the association said the appointments take immediate effect and are designed to enhance administration, technical development, safeguarding, marketing, and communication within the organisation.

The appointments have seen named National Technical Director, while and have been appointed Assistant Technical Directors for the Southern and Central regions respectively.

Others appointed are as Safeguarding Officer, as Marketing Director, and as Media Officer.

Msukwa said the appointments demonstrate the association’s determination to build a strong institutional foundation capable of supporting the sport’s growth at all levels.

“These appointments reflect our commitment to strengthening the structures of the association and advancing the development of taekwondo in Malawi. We believe the individuals appointed will play a crucial role in enhancing service delivery and implementing programmes that will help grow the sport nationwide,” said Msukwa.

According to the association, the expanded leadership team will help improve athlete development, coaching and officiating standards, safeguarding practices, marketing initiatives, and communication efforts.

The appointments come as TAM continues to implement strategies aimed at increasing participation, improving technical standards, and raising the profile of taekwondo across Malawi. The association says the new officials will be instrumental in ensuring its programmes are effectively delivered in different regions of the country while strengthening engagement with stakeholders and the public.
