MP Pledges to Build Hostels for Chuba CDSS
Kezzie Msukwa, Member of Parliament for Chitipa East, has pledged to construct separate hostels for boys and girls at Chuba Community Day Secondary School (CDSS) in Misuku if re-elected in the September 16, 2025, polls.
Currently, the school faces a serious accommodation challenge, with self-boarding students sleeping in classrooms due to the lack of proper facilities.
Msukwa made the pledge during a mattress donation ceremony at the school, after learning that many students were sleeping on bare floors.
“The situation is unacceptable,” said Msukwa. “These students deserve a safe and dignified place to sleep so they can focus on their education.”
The MP’s donation aims to ease some of the hardships students endure. Headteacher Maxmoss Kilewo expressed deep appreciation, describing the school’s urgent need for basic items like mattresses.

Form 2 student Matrida Kanyika also welcomed the gesture, saying the donation has lifted students’ morale and encouraged them to work harder in their studies.
Established in 2023, Chuba CDSS currently enrolls 100 students in Forms 1 and 2. Msukwa’s commitment has raised hopes for a more supportive and conducive learning environment in the near future.
