Zambian artist Dalisoul’s latest song, praising Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera, has ignited a heated online debate.

Critics claim that Dalisoul was paid to produce the song, but the artist firmly denies these allegations, insisting that his genuine affection for Malawi – a country he considers his second home – inspired the tribute.

In a recent interview, Dalisoul shared that his visit to Malawi revealed impressive developments, including upgraded road networks and airport renovations, which motivated him to create the song.

He emphasized that he has never met President Chakwera or anyone from the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), and dismissed compensation claims as false.

“I see no issue in celebrating President Chakwera through my music,” Dalisoul stated.

“After all, I’ve witnessed Skeffa Chimoto in Zambia supporting Andrew Lubusha of the Patriotic Front, showcasing the unity between Zambia and Malawi.”

The song’s release on Dan Lu’s Facebook page has fueled speculation, particularly given Dan Lu’s recent switch from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to the MCP.

This collaboration has raised eyebrows, sparking questions about the true nature of the song’s creation.
