The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has congratulated Honourable Alfred Gangata on his appointment as Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, expressing optimism for continued growth of football in the country.
In a statement, FAM President Fleetwood Haiya described Gangata as a familiar and supportive figure within football circles and said the association is ready to work closely with him to advance the sport.
“Congratulations to Honourable Alfred Gangata on your appointment as Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture. We warmly welcome you and look forward to working closely with you in football circles as we continue our shared mission of transforming the game of football in Malawi,” said Haiya.
Haiya also paid tribute to the outgoing Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Honourable Patricia Wiskies, for her contribution during her time in office.
“I extend my sincere gratitude to Honourable Patricia Wiskies for the support, cooperation, and goodwill she rendered to football during her tenure. We wish her every success in her new role as Minister of Natural Resources,” he added.
FAM says it remains committed to collaborating with government to develop football at all levels across Malawi.
