Reverend Luckwell Mtima was officially inducted during a colorful ceremony held on Sunday at Chipata Zambezi Evangelical Church (ZEC) in Blantyre.

Speaking in an interview, Reverend Mtima expressed his commitment to serving the Lord and the congregation for the next five years, the duration of his pastoral assignment at the church.

“During my first five years at Chipata ZEC in Blantyre, I managed to oversee the construction of a modern church building and a perimeter fence. I am determined to accomplish even more in the next five years,” he said.

On his part, Reverend Robert Mambeya, Chairperson of Zambezi Evangelical Church under the Mitsidi Synod, emphasized the church’s mission to serve communities both spiritually and physically.

Zambezi Evangelical Church, the first evangelical church in Malawi, was founded in 1892 by Australian Baptist missionary Joseph Booth. Today, the church has branches across Malawi as well as in neighboring countries including Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
