NRFA Conducts Nyasa Capital, FAM Moto draw
Northern Region Football Association on Thursday conducted draws for Nyasa Capital Finance Cup and FAM Moto Division One at Luwinga Technical Center in Mzuzu.
The draw has produced some derbies in the preliminary round with others expected in the second round in Nyasa Capital with FAM Moto Division teams teams to face in the quarterfinals and semifinals on home and away.
24 teams registered for Nyasa Capital Finance Cup this season where 16 teams will face off in a home and away crash with away goal rule to count.
The eight winners from preliminary round will join eight seeded teams currently in Simso Innobuild Last phase to battle out from round of 16 with some possible crackers where defending champions will face current Simso Innobuild league leaders Kadona Stars with another repeat of Castel crash between Ekwendeni United and Bwabwa United if the later progress in preliminary round against Nyungwe.
Speaking after the draw Vice General Secretary for Northern Region Football Association, Desire Bellings says they expect to unearth talents with a good competition while emphasizing discipline.
“We expect a good violence free competition with some derbies teams are improving administrative wise and hoping to unearth talents through this cup.” Said Bellings.
Speaking on behalf of teams, Sammez Soko team manager for Ekwendeni United described the draw as transparent and fair adding his team is ready to grab the cup.
“Our team is ready, the draw was fair and transparent, as a team we are ready to grab this cup we lost via penalties in the first season this season we are geared to grab it.” said Soko.
Preliminary games are set for next weekend.
