Baka City Qualify for Last 8
Baka City drew one all against Chipolopolo at Luzi ground on Sunday to become the first team to qualify for the last 8 of the Simso Innobuild League.
Zondiwe Munthali gave the home side a lead in the first half with Washington Msiska scoring an equalizer deep in the second half to give his side a vital point to qualify for next stage.
After the game coach for Baka City Davie Muyombe praised his players for salvaging a point in what he described as a tough game.
“My players failed to cope up with the pitch and two injuries disturbed us but with the point from here it means we are through to last 8.” Muyombe said in a post match interview.
His opposite Komani Vikhumbo says they have made progress with good play.
“I should commend my players for getting a point against a top team like Baka is not easy, we will bounce back next season, “. Said Vikhumbo.
Vikhumbo lamented players poaching as a major set back for his team.
“I challenge the league officials to look into this player transfers issue our players are being poched with no benefit coming to our team.” Vikhumbo said.
In other games Mzuni shared spoils in a goalless draw against Ekwaiweni Tafika Sports at Thengere ground in cluster B while in cluster C Mayamiko Stars drew 2 all with Kadona Stars with Nkhatabay Select thumping Chintheche United by 3-1.
In cluster D Jenda United thumped Mzimba Young Bullets 3-1 at Chiwanja ground.
