Police on a man hunt for the murder suspects in Mzimba
Police in Mzimba have experienced a series of murder cases in the past two weeks and are on a manhunt for the suspects.
The recent incident is where Lameck Gausi 23 years old who is allegedly to have gruesomely murdered his brother William Gausi 41 at Lufeyo Mhone Village in the District.
The two brothers went for beer drinking at Lufeyo Mhone Village, on Friday March 17, 2023 and Lameck returned alone.
A search for William commenced after two days of missing. On Sunday morning March 19, 2023 William was found lifeless in the bush about a kilometer from his Village with his head cut off, one eye removed and besides his body there was a piece of wood suspected to been used in beating him.
The matter was reported to Mzimba Police who in accompanied by a medical personel from Mzimba District Hospital.
Postmoterm conducted revealed that William died due to head injuries secondary to assault and loss of blood due to being beheaded.
The suspect, Lameck Gausi is still at large.
In similar incidents, police are also hunting for the assailants who murdered Oscar Chiumia 68 years old on Saturday March 11, 2023 and Symon Mvula 41 who was killed on Monday, March 13, 2023 in Traditional Authority Chindi in Euthini in the district.
Chiumia went for beer drinking at Mtende Trading Centre but did not report back home until on the following day and his wife reported the matter to the relatives.
Search was conducted and the Chiumia was found lying lifeless in the bush between Mtende Trading Centre and Sinoya Chiumia Villagege in a pool of blood.
Postmortem conducted at Euthini Health Center revealed that cause of death was due to head injuries secondary to assault. Investigations are still underway to identify the criminals behind the murder.
Symon Mvula also went missing, only to be found dead on the third day of the search.
Symon and his brother went to Nthengwe Trading Center for beer drinking on Monday March, 13, 2023 at around 0800 hours. At around 2000 hrs the Mvula was drunk and he left his brother to unknown destination but he did not reach home.
Then the following day relations started to search for him until on Thursday March 16, 2023 when Mvula was found lying dead Nzuwula near Nthengwe Trading Center.
Postmortem conducted at Euthini Health Center revealed that Mvula’s death was due to head injuries secondary to assault.
William Gausi hailed from Lazaro Gausi Village in Traditional Authority Mzikubola, while Oscar Chiumia hailed from Chiumia Village and Symon Mvula hailed from Chiganga Village in Traditional Authority Chindi all in Mzimba District.
