Mzuzu Media Communication for Change Applauds President Mutharika for Fulfilling Alliance Promises Through Chihana Appointment

Mzuzu Media Communication for Change has expressed its gratitude to His Excellency President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for fulfilling alliance promises by appointing Honourable Enock Chihana as the Second Vice President of the Republic of Malawi.

In an official statement dated 21 October 2025 and signed by the group’s Chairperson, Mike Lyson Zgambo, the organization applauded President Mutharika for what it described as a demonstration of political maturity and integrity.

“President Mutharika has shown leadership by honouring his word. His decision to appoint Honourable Chihana to the vice presidency sends a strong message of trust and accountability in political leadership,” the statement read in part.

The group emphasized that such actions by the President restore hope among Malawians that the promises made under the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) alliance will indeed be fulfilled.

“This move gives Malawians hope that many of the promises made by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will be fulfilled,” the statement added.

During the swearing-in ceremony held at Sanjika Palace, President Mutharika reiterated that the appointment was part of broader efforts to promote national unity and inclusiveness in governance.

“The decision to appoint Honourable Chihana is a step toward strengthening unity in our nation. We must move forward as one people,” the President said.

Mzuzu Media Communication for Change further encouraged the DPP-led government to continue upholding democratic principles and fostering collaboration across political divides for the betterment of Malawi.
