Pasuwa Banks on Stability as Okedina Returns for October Qualifiers
Flames Head Coach Kalisto Pasuwa has shown faith in his charges by retaining the bulk of his squad for the October 2025 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Out of the 26 players who featured in last month’s clashes with Namibia and Liberia, 24 have been recalled, forming the core of his final 25-man list to face Equatorial Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe.
The Flames will host Equatorial Guinea on 9th October at Bingu National Stadium before travelling to Tunis for an away tie against São Tomé and Príncipe on 13th October.
One notable inclusion is Jubril Okedina, the Ireland-based defender who plays for Bohemian F.C. He returns to the squad after a lengthy absence, with this call-up marking his first competitive appearance since the Four Nations Tournament in March last year.
Pasuwa’s men—featuring 15 foreign-based players—will regroup in Lilongwe on Sunday, 5th October, to begin preparations for the crucial qualifiers.
