United Transformation Movement (UTM) Vice President for the North, Dr. Catherine Mzumara, has officially graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree during a colorful ceremony held in China.
Dr. Mzumara successfully graduated her doctoral in “Political Competition and Economic Progress: A Comprehensive Analysis of Malawi’s Development Path,” at the prestigious Peking University. She has since earned a PhD in Theoretical Economics, with a focus on National Development.
Balancing her academic journey with political responsibilities, Dr. Mzumara expressed joy and gratitude upon completing this significant milestone. She described the experience as both challenging and enriching, adding that the research has equipped her with deeper insights into the intersection between politics and economic progress in Malawi.
Speaking after her graduation, Dr. Mzumara underscored the importance of education in strengthening leadership and driving sustainable national growth. She noted that her achievement should serve as an encouragement to Malawian youth, especially women, to pursue academic excellence while actively participating in shaping the nation’s future.
