Malawi today paid tribute to the late Monjeza Maluza, remembering him as a dedicated public servant whose career was defined by commitment to peace, security, and national service.

Speaking on behalf of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at the funeral ceremony held in Dedza, Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Dr. Shadric Namalomba, said the country has lost a seasoned leader who served Malawi with distinction both in the security sector and in politics.

Dr. Namalomba noted that Maluza’s journey from Commissioner of Police to Member of Parliament for Dedza East and later Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security reflected his deep sense of patriotism and willingness to serve the nation in different capacities.

He added that President Mutharika highly appreciated Maluza’s contribution to maintaining law, order, and stability, which he said laid a strong foundation for national unity.

Dr. Namalomba called on Malawians to draw lessons from the late Maluza’s life by upholding values of discipline, patriotism, and selfless service.

The late Monjeza Maluza, born on July 4, 1936, passed away on January 5, 2026, and is being laid to rest today at Mtakataka in Dedza District.
