Seed manufacturing giant Seed-Co has donated K5 million to the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) to support preparations for the upcoming 2025 Business Leaders’ Summit.
The summit, slated for next week in the lakeshore district of Mangochi, is expected to attract top business executives, policymakers, and development partners from across Malawi.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony in Lilongwe, Seed-Co Group Quality Assurance Manager Dan Dandalo emphasized the company’s appreciation for MCCCI’s role in advocating for the private sector.
“Our partnership with MCCCI underscores our shared vision for a thriving business community and a brighter future for Malawi,” Dandalo said. “By supporting initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and trade, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.”
He noted that Malawi’s economic growth depends on the ability of key stakeholders to collaborate in overcoming challenges and leveraging new opportunities.
Receiving the donation on behalf of MCCCI, CEO Daisy Kambalame expressed gratitude for Seed-Co’s timely support and its continued commitment to empowering the private sector.
She revealed that this year’s summit will address pressing economic issues, including digital transformation and the private sector’s role in the government’s Agricultural Transformation and Market Mechanisation (ATMM) strategy.
Kambalame described the summit as a strategic platform for dialogue between the public and private sectors, aimed at generating actionable solutions for national development.
“The importance of collaboration in unlocking Malawi’s economic potential cannot be overstated,” she said.
The summit will bring together senior government officials, CEOs, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders, highlighting the critical role of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable economic growth.
Seed-Co’s donation sets a positive tone ahead of the event, reinforcing its commitment to fostering a resilient and prosperous business environment in Malawi.
