Chitipa DESO Calls for Sponsorship Ahead of MASSA Fundraising Games

Chitipa District Education Sports Officer (DESO) Patrick Simwayi has appealed to well-wishers for support as they prepare for the MASSA fundraising games set for this Saturday at Nachiwe Primary School Ground.

Simwayi emphasized that having adequate resources to cover expenses for the event would be a great boost, urging individuals and organizations to contribute in any way they can.

“I would like to take this opportunity to call upon well-wishers to support our fundraising event this Saturday at Nachiwe. The funds raised will help our Chitipa learners participate in Malawi Youth Games at different levels. On our own, we cannot manage, which is why we are seeking support. Chitipa has a wealth of talent, but due to a lack of exposure, many young athletes miss out on opportunities,” said Simwayi.

He also encouraged residents of Chitipa to attend the event in large numbers, where they will be entertained by exciting football and netball matches featuring selected teams.

“We invite the people of Chitipa to come and witness the incredible talent within our district while also helping us raise funds for this important cause. To make it accessible to everyone, we have set affordable entry fees: K200 for school students, K500 for general attendees, K500 for teachers, and K1,000 for business owners. This year’s tournament will feature two sports disciplines—football and netball—for a start. Participating primary schools include Nachiwe, Chitipa CCAP, Ishalikira, and Kawale.
