President Chakwera Reshuffles Cabinet: Peter Dimba Promoted, Sosten Gwengwe Fired

President Lazarus Chakwera has made key changes to his cabinet, promoting Peter Dimba from Deputy Minister of Transport to Minister of Labour, replacing Vitumbiko Mumba.

In an unexpected move, President Chakwera also fired Sosten Gwengwe as Minister of Trade. His position has been taken over by Vitumbiko Mumba, who was previously serving as Minister of Labour.

Additionally, the president has appointed Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Director of Youth, Steven Baba Malondera, as the new Deputy Minister of Transport.

These changes signal Chakwera’s continued efforts to reshape his administration.
